Changes at Silvae Genetica
Dear readers and authors,
I am pleased to announce some important changes at Silvae Genetica starting with the volume 65/ 2016.
Beginning in 2017, Silvae Genetica will be published as Open Access Journal in cooperation with De Gruyter Open, one of the world’s leading publishers of Open Access scientific content. Today, De Gruyter Open publishes about 400 own and third-party scholarly journals and over 200 books across all major disciplines. The company provides a wide availability of journal’s content through a worldwide distribution to universities and libraries as well as close cooperation with a high number of abstracting and indexing services. Silvae Genetica will benefit also from various functions and services provided by De Gruyter’s platform, such as: live links creations, registration of DOI numbers, article alerts, advanced content browsing and social media sharing (www.degruyteropen.com).
The Thünen-Institute will remain as publisher and cover all costs for the publication (The Organization-Pays Model). Thus authors intending to publish in Silvae Genetica will be free of charges for the open access publication. At the moment De Gruyter Open prepares the new web page of the journal. Then all recent and former articles from 2004 to 2016 will be assessable at this web page. We plan to publish 4 issues with a total of 40 articles per year. New accepted papers will be accessible as Online-First service.
The Editorial Office will stay the same and manuscripts can also in the future be submitted electronically by E-mail (silvae-genetica@thuenen.de).
